Return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield. Create a Food token. (It's an artifact with "2, T, Sacrifice this token: You gain 3 life.")

Modern Legacy Vintage Commander Pauper Brawl

Legality is a property of the card, not the printing, so it is identical for all 4 versions.

Official Judge Precedents

4 Precedents

If the target is illegal as the spell tries to resolve, perhaps because it has been removed from the graveyard, you will not create a Food token.

You can't sacrifice a Food to pay multiple costs. For example, you can't sacrifice a Food token to activate its own ability and also to activate Maraleaf Rider's ability.

Food is an artifact type. Even though it appears on some creatures, it's never a creature type.

Whatever you do, don't eat the delicious cards.
